  • I'm the webmaster of FFH!

    Hello,

My name is Josh and I own and operate Free Fansite Hosting. If you didn't already know Free Fansite Hosting currently runs and operates the following sites:
We also plan to use our other "subdomain domains" for many other websites related to fansites just like we are using afan.site for our forums.

I am getting a bit off topic as this post is supposed to be about myself, not my business, so I will continue.

I am currently 33 years old and started building fansites way back in 1996 when I was a teenager. My first fansite ever was larisa.net (dedicated to the beautiful Larisa Oleynik of The Secret World of Alex Mack) which was followed by lindsaylohan.com (I don't need to introduce her, LOL). I took a break from fansites during college and decided to start making them again when I created Jennifer-Lawrence.com (Jennifer's oldest fansite online!) Due to her sudden explosion in popularity my paid host at the time told me I had to go (thanks Host Gator for your so called "unlimited"). I say thanks to Host Gator because that was the birth of what would become Free Fansite Hosting. I was forced to invest in a dedicated server to keep the fansite up and running. If you know anything about hosting, dedicated servers starts at a good $200+/month. So I decided to let someone else adopt Jennifer-Lawrence.com and I started freefansitehosting.com with just a few domains: (jenniferlawrence.org, jenniferlawrence.us, jennifer-lawrence,us and jennifer-lawrence.info).

Again I guess I'm getting into the business and not myself, so I guess to sum myself up I now have 2 wonderful kids. My beautiful daughter Sophia just turned 2 two days ago! My brilliant son Jason will be turning 4 next month. I ran several online businesses which help support my family. Fansite Hosting isn't the bread winner but it is definitely my hobby!

If for some reason you want to know more about me then let me know ; )

    Hi, Josh!
It's always great to get to know the people behind these hosting networks.
I think it's unavoidable to talk about the business aspect of things when you own a fansite hosting network since you're talking about something pretty much all your members will be somewhat familiar with.

I have to admit that I'm curious about the Lindsay Lohan site. I used to be a huge fan of her.

Nice to see another Josh and another Lilo fan. I am actually developing my own Lindsay site. Thanks for all you do. You've never been rude or done rude things like other hosts I've experience. Especially FanFusion. I used to have a Britney, Lindsay and Eva Longoria site there and they stole everything and wouldn't give me my content back. It was sad because my Lindsay site had problems with the gallery and they refused to fix it and I think I went 2 weeks without updating the Britney site and they took it away from me. :/

Thanks! It was a real pain the first few days, but once FSO took the sites down I figured out a very efficient method for transferring the accounts directly from FSO to our servers. Now lets hope the 80 mbps upload speeds we used doesn't cost us $1200 in bandwidth overage fee's!

BTW LindsayLohan.com was a smash success. We had a very large forum following. Sadly when I got in college I decided to give my domain to a fan that helped me run the forums as I had a girlfriend and no time for the site. Since then it somehow got back in the control of Lindsay herself. I actually think the "moose" that I gave the domain to was actually someone that knew Lindsay IRL,, who knows, maybe he was just a fan that got lucky and sold the domain back to her for god knows how much. I like to think he was her webmaster of llrocks.com (her official fansite when she started acting) or maybe her Dad who friended me once they realized lindsaylohan.com was a better choice then llrocks.com, LOL.

That is awesome. I'll have to archive your site. When was it up?

I can't remember the exact years but looking at a whois history for the domain it shows in 2000 it was owned by the guy I gave it to, so I am thinking I owned it up until then, I was the first person that registered her domain.

Nice to read up on how your network started up! I used to love 'The Secret world of Alex Mac" not many people I knew watched the show or remember it tbh. Id love to find that show and watch it again

Thanks for being so patient with everyone and not going crazy with all the transfers, I can't imagine how difficult it was for you to do all those transfers
